YOU ARE NOT DISCUSSING THE MASSIVE—RELENTLESS SATURATION OF ADS SOMETIMES 6-9 AN HOUR ON TV.
The ads I see on TV are “Medicare (dis)Advantage” related and the ads (spokesman Joe Namath, etc.), are paid for by insurance broker referral agencies (phone banks) and insurance brokers themselves. The reason they are so prevalent is that the annual commission on selling an “advantage plan” is double or triple that of a supplement (”Plan G”, etc.) plan (~$600-$700. per year vs $300). The health insurance company pays out the same commission to your local home town insurance agent or an agent from a mega scammy agency advertising on TV (including AARP).
So what is it that the ads are saying, and what is the implication? (I do not have a TV nor waste my precious time on that foolish monthly expense)
