Patrick McRetard weighs in...
I don’t support the comment, at all, but to be arrested for it? No free speech?
“McClintock was hit with a misdemeanor charge of disturbing the peace.
.....
“Every person has the right to feel safe and respected in our community,” Starkville Police Department said in a statement to the outlet.
Offensive words alone are protected, but when behavior disrupts a public event or risks violence, the Starkville Police Department will take steps to help maintain safety and security.”
Fighting words.
But it was hurled at him. The article says so.
We can’t people running around hurling things.
[Sarcasm] Free speech, even for idiot antisemites.
Poor reporting, but if you go to the original source, he also was throwing coins at Portnoy.
“Outside of the restaurant, a man on the sidewalk yelled an antisemitic statement and threw coins at Portnoy.”
When they gonna arrest people who beat Asian’s and whites because of skin color instead of releasing?
Because calling names is done all the time. Hurt feelings and jail?
Was there threats of harm?
Well at least at state he had to go
They should force this young lad to watch ‘The World at War’...
When I was a young we had two channels of TV in Canada and on Saturday we could watch terrible spiderman cartoons, wrastling and a documentary series called ‘World at War’ narrated by Lawrence Olivier... It was a comprehensive record of World War II... The episodes that dealt with finding the deathcamps were the most impactful in my mind... They actually showed bulldozers shoving the dead bodies of Jews and concentration camp victims into mass graves... BTW - There was no ‘This may be disturbing’ warning attached to any of the episodes of that documentary series... It was raw, impactful and the most educational programing ever produced to show the horror of World War II and it’s impact.
Anybody who hasn’t seen it should be forced to watch it... And if you do and you come away from it ‘liking’ the NAZI’s or hating Jews.. You are obviously a psycho.
he said words
well, if ‘hurling’ words is a crime, surely ‘hitting’ with charges is likewise.
did he stop his speech to go scurrying around picking them up?
Why, do you need some coins because you haven’t been getting your SNAP checks?
That is dangerous now. And as time goes by is going to become more so. And so will thinking be. Think the wrong thought. Arrested. It has already started. A guy was arrested in Tennessee and held in jail a number of days for posting a meme critical of President Trump.
I watched that every week. Also Victory at Sea.
Arrested for what? Granted, his comment was vile and uncalled for—but this person should be made famous for their 15 minutes and then banished for being a ding dong..
Agreed.
Comments here say he also was throwing coins at Portnoy.
