Senate Votes 60-40 To Reopen Government 🚨One Republican, Kentucky’s Rand Paul, opposes the CR🚨

Senate Majority Leader John Thune finally got the eight Democrats/Independents he needed to vote in favor of a Continuing Resolution that will allow the government to reopen. Tonight’s vote was just one step — though a critically important one — in a process that could take several days to play out. Among other things, the CR is different from the one that passed the House on September 19 so the House will have to vote on it again.

I am not surprised about Shaheen because she is not running for reelection.
Plus, she has been rumored as one of the ones looking to break from the Dem pack for weeks now.

Hassan on the other hand does surprise me a little. Mostly because she is not due for election for another four years.

So the GOOBS are taking us back to where we were the day before Trump took over in January. Turning the Treasury over to the pig-faced, illegal aliens. The Communist RATS have won again. The GOOBERS failed. We went through a year of BS for absolutely nothing. The RATS turned America over to failed, cowardly Socalist invaders. Taxpayers gotta feed the illegal alien SNAPPERS’ faces and pay for their health care. All the illegals who ran away from their own governments but stand in the streets of America burning the American flag and waving their own rags at us. The subhuman foreign invaders have turned the left half of America against the right half. United my butt.

“Reducing the number to fifty-four would accomplish what was done in the past when the parties actually did attempt to negotiate in good faith.”

That is a solid common sense suggestion—which means the US Senate Republicans would never go for it.

Lol.

I hadn't heard that. So Sununu is running for her seat, eh?

What principles?

He’s siding with democrats and his policies would destroy this country if he could implement them.

Well, the current Republicans who are part of the McConnell posse will not because it could help Trump and they sabotage him at every turn.

I wasn’t surprised. The red-blue model is not the same in Northern NE as in the rest of the country.

Of course he offers no realistic solution. He is just like Canadians. Both are great at pointing out issues but have no idea or interest in how to solve them.

I understand the anger at Paul but he raises a point that no one wants to deal with. We are driving ourselves to a level of debt that we won’t be able to pay back. The only solution will be Socialism - confiscating private property to pay the debt. That is how history solved massive debt. Or default.

Yes John Sununu is running for Shaheen’s current seat. That is the same US Senate seat he LOST to Shaheen after she was NH Governor. Not to be confused with John’s younger brother Chris Sununu. Our previous governor. Now a CEO and guest contributor on Fox News, etc.

I am supporting Scott Brown.

Either one will be better than Chris Pappas. Current NH1 Congressman.

NH1 Congressional district is now an open race because Pappas is running for US Senate.

NH2 is most likely going to be a rematch between Mrs Jake Sullivan(Goodlander) and Lily Tang Williams. Although, neither of the two carpetbaggers Reps that came in 2nd, and 3rd of the NH GOP primary have announced yet.

Forget party.

Pols are either Deep State or MAGA.

Most of Congress is Deep State.

The principle of fiscal discipline and NOT increasing the national debt...a position he ran on initially in 2010 and one he's held consistently since then.

“I've been fighting this battle for 15 years… Every time we raise the debt ceiling without cuts, we're stealing from our kids.” — Rand Paul on the Senate floor, October 2025 (referencing his entire Senate tenure)

Would not have expected Tim Kaine (D-VA) to grow a pair and vote for this.

He won concessions about reinstating federal workers who were RIFed during the shutdown, plus guarantees there won't be RIFs in a future shutdown (and back pay, of course).

As we saw in last week's election, the federal workforce drives NOVA voting. In short, Kaine was just playing to his base.

Of course he offers no realistic solution.

Of course he does, its called the Penny Plan (or Six Penny Plan) which cuts six cents out of every federal dollar for six years leading to a balanced budget.

Rand Paul has been pushing this plan consistently since arriving in Washington.

Rand Paul’s “principles” are putting everyone trying to get a flight or actually flying in danger. And he’s disrupting thousands of Thanksgiving plans - just like Andy Cuomo did back during covid. You don’t want to be like Andy Cuomo.

Senate Votes 60-40 To Reopen Government 🚨One Republican, Kentucky’s Rand Paul, opposes the CR🚨

FR: Never Accept the Premise of Your Opponent’s Argument

The so-called federal government shut down should never have happened with our constitutionally limited power federal government which has been pirated by corrupt, constitutionally undefined political parties.

The only thing that should be jokingly interpreted as the main sign of a federal government shutdown is slow mail delivery.
