I do acknowledge and share your feelings about clickbait and the maddening habit of writers in the Internet age of not giving the promise of the headline until late, sometimes very late, in the story. I have a journalism degree from a top 5 J-school, and that’s not the way. If we submitted stories on assignments without getting to the lede early, it was marked down considerably. Ledes and heds should always be within sight of each other.
