Glad no permanent damage was done. “Princesse de Broglie,” by Jean Auguste Dominique Ingres is one of my favorite works at the Met. Considering how many people visit the Met, one is pleasantly surprised vandalism is more rare than winning the lottery

I was there last Saturday to see the Divine Egypt exhibit and spend some time in the Greek galleries. In my 20s I had a girlfriend who was a painter, and she would get as close as possible to the art to examine the brushstrokes. I can’t remember how many times a guard would yell at her to stay three inches from the painting. I picked up that habit from her, among others.

More likely Mamdami will loot the Met and store his fortune in Swiss vaults, like Arafat.

So a angry ‘young man’ threw a tantrum intentionally damaged priceless art in a museum and was sent home with mommy? Maybe the A-hole needed a kick in the ass and some jail time. Anybody wanna bet his mommy is a Dr. Spock liberal who never said no to her precious little baby?
