Dick Cheney became a vocal critic of U.S. President Donald Trump in the years leading up to his death.
The influential Republican figure, who held numerous roles in Republican politics, called the President a "threat" and a "coward" in numerous statements and interviews over the past decade.
Cheney, the former vice president to George W. Bush and influential figure in Republican politics, has died aged 84, his family has announced.
Despite sharing a political party, Cheney held a negative view of Trump and made a number of statements disparaging him, especially after his daughter Liz Cheney became involved in probing the January 6 Capitol riots.

And Liz lose bigly in her House race.
True.
Too many.
They didn’t fall for it.
They aided and abetted the coup.
Too bad he didn’t live long enough to see his psycho biotch daughter thrown in prison.
They hated him because he wasn’t a rat that came from the swamp. Trump is self made . They can’t control him or blackmail him. He has genuine support as a person rather than just another party member. It drives them insane.
Lest any here forget, this clown came out of Congress straight into VP because of his MIC ties at minimum. A product of needless continuous wars and the inventor of the Iraq war to supposedly “get” Osama Bin Laden. That’s a lot of baggage.
Such a goooood Republican he Endorsed Kamala Harris (a Communist as all here certainly know and a creation of Nantzi Pelosi! Kamala Harris endorsed by dick cheney-— beyond any comprehension unless one aligns this thing with NeoCon, Inc, and Bill Kristol.
One of the dregs of NeoCon has finally, mercifully gone, leaving a psychotic brat of a daughter (two actually one a lesbo) and a much reduced spouse.
This article should put the flames to Newsweek, as the tool that it is.
Such hatred for Donald Trump (and he too, was photographed smiling and shaking Trumps hand... for money. Always money- not a single true Conservative Constitutional motivation whatsoever). GWBush needed him— to think for him. And look at the Bushes and the Clintons now. Come to think of it— Obamaumao and his hag/whatever— utterly creatures.
Donald Trump is a Hercules— a Patriot who doesn’t have to do what he is doing. Far more admiration for him than the destruction and useless power grabbing of the Cheneys (of Wyoming am told).
At this point, the only good things that I can say about Cheney is that he gave a devastating criticism of Biden, and that he owned a couple hundred full autos.
“GWB, Cheney and Crazy Liz fell for the fake dossier.”
They didn’t fall for it. They had enough connections to know it was fake.
They hated Reagan, they hated Dole, They hated Bush, they hated McCain, they hated Romney. See a pattern?
I disagree about Chris Christie. He puts out about 450 LBS. of influence everywhere he goes….
What a worthless turd he turned out to be…
A lot of things can be said of Donald Trump, mainly because he is the least nuanced (most genuine) figure in modern politics. One thing that can never be said is that he is a coward.
Thereafter, I recognized other failings, and my support waned until it became nonexistent.
My regard for Dick Cheney similarly fell from very high to nonexistent.
That's a little strong, BUT maybe a 1,000,000,000,000 years, burning in Purgatory would straighten his soul in to righteousness.
Well said .
They misspelled Neocon.
Me too, in fact I donated so much to that cheezy bastard, that I got a hand autographed {not auto pen} pix and thank you from the shrub.
When I finally woke up and had enough, I destroyed every single shrub reminder.
He was one of my worst political mistakes...but he was better than algore and shrek would have been.
Yes, Bush was better than Gore, but he lost all of my support and admiration.

Big talk from a draft dodger
And Liz lose bigly in her House race.
And don’t forget her daddy’s pipe dream of her becoming President.
