Actually, I think you do have a point when you mention international waters. I’m not a lawyer though or legal eagle but I just dont like it morally in any case
You can still capture them and bring them to land and a US judge. They’re sending home “survivors”. It does not make sense to me

There is no way he is stupid enough to believe we don’t have tons of intelligence assets in the Southern Hemisphere. We know where the boats supplies come from, when they are loaded and by which group. And he even believes fishing boats are designed to go 80 miles an hour and fish nowhere near the coast of their country.
This is because at a fundamental level libertarians see nothing wrong with the cargo these drug smugglers are selling. To them its another market activity that should be allowed to occur. It’s no one’s business but the buyer and the seller. Nice theory but reality says something different.
These are not common smugglers. They are delivering poison to our shores with the intent of destroying people. No mercy for them; we are simply not going to tolerate gangsters who transport toxic substances into our society.
