A Texas mom is accused of packing up her entire apartment while her child was at school, and moving out without telling him.
Erica Renee Sanders has been charged with felony child endangerment after allegedly moving out of the Copperas Cove apartment where she and her 12-year-old son were staying while he was at school — without informing him, according to a complaint obtained by PEOPLE. Local outlet KWTX was first to report the news.
The middle schooler’s principal alerted officers with the Copperas Cove Police Department to the situation around 5:18 p.m. local time on Friday, Oct. 17, after the 12-year-old, upon exiting the school bus to go home, saw that “his family packed up and moved and left him there,” according to the complaint.
The “furniture and other household items” that had been in the apartment when the young boy left for school that Friday morning were gone, according to a responding officer’s account of the events. The officer, who described the unit as “empty” and “completely barren,” said the boy confirmed that “the apartment was not like that when he left.”

It’s them, again. It has been and almost always will be them.
Blaque peepo.
I suspect many commentators here are not recognizing their white privilege. (However, if I do, it would seem to me to be racist).
I empathize, I have a blood relative who took a LOT of LSD trips, not all of them round trips...
“The child also told officers that the couple had stated that “they were moving at some point,” but had not informed him when. Adams later told police that his girlfriend “had not abandoned” her son, “but that she was living with him now and [her son] was not welcome in his home,” the complaint states.”
A reminder that one of the leading causes of death young children is the mother’s new boyfriend

I bet you heard “I’d rather be dead than red on the head.” My brother did. They always called him “carrot top” too but that is green.

What is happening to our society?
I’ve heard this with at least a couple ‘away’ college students - the parents didn’t want to disturb them during key exam times and planned on telling them after midterms/finals.
They went home to get away from distractions of school for a weekend, and....
It is individuals ... They have names ... Society can’t do anything ...
In the long run, they were probably doing the kid a favor.

My guess would be it’s generations of a certain political party telling them the country is racist and they don’t stand a chance, while at the same time giving handouts to keep them on the democrat plantation instead of teaching self responsibility and self respect.
Black women lead the pack in abortions and it’s not even close.....so that this woman would up and abandon her child really isn’t all that surprising to me.
My sisters were at Girl Scout Camp when we moved house when I was living in Queens. They took a bus to Port Authority bus terminal in Manhattan, and called my mother to pick them up. She was tired from moving and told them to take a taxi home. We had moved a week earlier than expected, so when they got home the house was empty, and they had no money to pay the cabfare. The cabbie was worried, but we only moved six blocks and they knew where it was, so they told the cabbie not to worry, and had them drive to new address.
This was 1963, long before cell phones. What if AT&T had not transferred the phone lines? (They probably would have phoned a friend who lived nearby.)
The most dangerous place in America for a young child is its mother's womb. Second most is alone at home with the mother's boyfriend.

hey, isn’t the kid that’s supposed to run away?
Not just IQ but inability to defer gratification.
There was a famous study done in 1958 and then again in 2018 (in an attempt to refute the original study but it came out the same).
Basically little kids were shown a piece of candy and then told they could have 2 pieces if they waited 15 minutes.
White kids could wait; black kids could not. They’d take the candy and then lie about it, saying someone came in and stole it or whatnot.
