COPPELL, Texas - Dozens of parents are speaking against a Coppell ISD proposal to permanently close an elementary school.
The district says it needs to cut costs, and parents say their school is being unfairly targeted.

Coppell is very affluent,
Could the closure be home schooling, charter schools, or private religious schools leading to the decline in the public schools.
There is a growing number of school age kids in Texas. But they are in poorer, Hispanic populated districts.
Home/private schooling there.
Even here in ETX, all of our neighbors homeschooling. We are rural. Nearest elementary is 30 minutes away.
Homeschooling is ideal for time management. They all do it online.

Asian: 51.6%
White: 27.6%
Hispanic/Latino: 13.2%
Black: 4.2%
Two or More Races: 3.1%
American Indian: 0.3%
Pacific Islander: 0.1%
The local apartment complexes are South Asian ghettos.
I’m on board with that, though I harbor dreams about relocating to Driftwood in the Hill Country.
