Truth is they stole alot of their business plan from Sheetz (out of Altoona).
They had a deal for years where Wawa wouldn’t go too far to west in PA and Sheetz wouldn’t go too far east. That went out the window a couple of years ago.
Back then they did agree that Sheetz would take the Carolinas and Wawa would take FL. That seems to be holding.
Wawa has slightly better food. Sheetz has a slightly better menu imo.
The NC/Fla deal didn’t hold up either. We recently got a Wawa. I THINK there might be a Sheetz further down the road from Wawa? Or maybe that location closed due to robberies? Can’t keep up with the closing’s due to robberies anymore. Anyway, there is at least one if not more Wawa’s next town over....along with some Sheetz too.
Although Wawa opened their first off-site store in 1964, Wawa started as a dairy farm with a retail store in the Indian settlement town of Wawa, PA, in the 1800s.
Qaqa hwew in Wilmington, Ciircle K in Cleveland. Very comparable in attracting customers. Marry the two and take over any state east of the Mississippi.
