Climate change impacting Tropical Storm Melissa
NBC News Local ^ | October 23, 2025 | By Steve Glazier

Posted on 10/24/2025 6:09:33 AM PDT by Oldeconomybuyer

Real-time data shows the water temperatures underneath Tropical Storm Melissa are 600 times more likely due to climate change.

The analysis is operated by Climate Central, a nonprofit organization that focuses on the science and communication behind climate change.

The organization compares current sea surface temperatures to average, then overlays the current and forecast track of tropical systems.

Melissa is currently a tropical storm southeast of Jamaica and southwest of Haiti. The storm will move over very warm water, around 86 degrees Fahrenheit, and that warm water will be a key piece of the storm's rapid intensification.

Melissa is predicted to rapidly intensify from a tropical storm Friday night, to a major hurricane by Sunday night. Meanwhile, the storm will be drifting toward Jamaica, bringing storm surge, flooding and mudslides.

Trump is going to have to put a stop to the movement of Mexican cars.

The Kentucky senator is not going to be happy. He might even become as unhappy as ‘Grinch’ Greta.

All this climate change is worrisome but thankfully we don’t have to change when hurricane season is.

“ WTH does that even mean? More likely than what?”
That is an incomplete sentence. If NBSee had an editor they might have caught that error.
But it is also a falsehood. Nothing but gibberish!!

..."with hurricane season almost over we haven’t had any to speak of."

So, how's this for a headline:

CLIMATE CHANGE HEATS OCEAN WATERS, REDUCES STORM RISK

“Real-time data shows the water temperatures underneath Tropical Storm Melissa are 600 times more likely due to climate change.“

Nice non sequiter.

Hurricane season was a dud so the alarmists must now assign climate change eff3cts to tropical storms

Instead of just saying “whoops, we were wr9ng folks, rising temperstures didnt have the massive increase in hurricanes that we predicted”

Real-time data shows the water temperatures underneath Tropical Storm Melissa are 600 times more likely due to climate change.

Couldn't get past the first sentence. Such wild-assed claims like that make everything afterwards not credible.

Is Climate change happening? I don't know. I only have my own personal observations sitting 30 miles SW of Chicago right now and seeing only one species of trees having changed colors by now. Normally all the trees by me are in full-color by now.

The trees by me are a mix of different types of Oak Trees, Elm Trees, Ash Trees and Hawthornes.

We also had a pretty significant drought this past spring and summer, with most of our annual rainfall coming in mid-fall (too late to un-do the damage of a drought.)

With that said, typically a drought like the one we just exited from makes the leaves change color earlier and fall faster. Meaning we don't get much of a change-of-color season here.

I've no idea what's going to happen here with leaves everywhere still green. They may not change colors at all and simply die and fall for all I know.

Climate change? Maybe. But then again, isn't the climate always changing? Feels more like "climate shift" with the seasons starting later and later here, and it's felt like that for a couple of decades already.

On a personal note:
Counting down my move to Tennessee and exiting this hell-hole of a state on Nov. 6th. Yee Haw!

They must be using that higher math thing.
I mean to pick a number that sits between two prime numbers 599 and 601.
what are the odds?

The Wall Street Journal bemoans we're not willing to give up electricity, power, transportation, etc. to the call of climate change. (A guest columnist, I hope) writes:

".... Kalee Kreider, is a consultant and former climate advisor to Al Gore. That says it all. One line that I found to be especially humorous and false is this:

Compared with many other areas, population, life expectancy, and economic growth over decades, climate change is easy to forecast.

Climate Central, a nonprofit organization

A “nonprofit” organization is an organization that pays humungous salaries to board members and officers in order to not make a profit from all the donations and grants it scams from donors and governments.

First you start with the outcome - Global Warming.

Then you manipulate the data, adding your own fabricated numbers - 600%.

Voila! You have your $ettled $cience!

- My calculation says 597. I think they are exaggerating. -

I think you're close; try calculating it out to at least 2 decimal points. "597.26" looks much more accurate. 😀
