I don't think so. Here's why:

Even though Bannon may be socially sort of conservative (although I'm not sure how much he cares about that), his real shtick is pushing populist class-envy politics. Look at what Bannon has been saying:

"If the ox has got to get gored, it's got to come out of the wealthy. It's got to come out of the billionaire class."

He's just stoking class envy here, exactly like the left. Every genuine conservative knows that the real problem is spending rather than taxes, that the wealthy are already paying the vast majority of our taxes, that claiming to tax billionaires to pay for anything significant is a sleight-of-hand trick because there's not enough money there, that taxing productivity and innovation is how to get less of it.

On Luigi Mangione, he says:

"It’s also why you see this seething anger about this healthcare CEO being assassinated on the street in New York. A guy that lies in wait, steps out, and shoots a guy at point blank range — pure evil — and that’s as anti-American as you can get. That’s Robert Ford. When terribly misguided people say this guy is a hero, you can’t look away from that. The response to that is not more security for CEOs. It’s looking at how much, since 2008, has gone to stock buybacks for shareholders, not to reinvest in plants and equipment and capital to build jobs and robust communities."

This reminds me of Democrats' reaction to the murder (or to the murder of Charlie Kirk): "It's awful, but people have valid reasons for supporting political violence."

That "It's awful BUT..." framing is a terrible take. It's just like all the Soros DAs who don't put violent criminals in jail because those criminals had their reasons (bad upbringing, a tough life, "institutionalized racism," whatever) — and we should show the criminals some understanding.

Anyway, Bannon is no MAGA conservative, even though he may pay lip service to conservatism on some social issues.
