“He’s not a Conservative. He’s a Libertarian.”
Libertarianism is a political philosophy that prioritizes individual liberty, freedom, and personal sovereignty, believing that individuals should be free to live as they choose as long as they respect the equal rights of others. This is often supported by a belief in limited government, free-market capitalism, and the idea that voluntary cooperation is the ideal form of interaction. On his web site he lists himself as a social conservative and a member of the republican party.
All of this, from my past understanding, is part of the basis for conservatism. He speaks out about conservative policies because they match his ideology of government but by doing so infiltrates into the conservative agenda and blurs the issues just like liberals try to do while trying to sell the appearance of a conservative supporting to the party. He’s a user.

Well, it's bull$hit, because Conservatives don't believe in open borders, protecting DACA illegals from having to self-deport at the age of 21, (a Bill Rand Paul co-sponsored with RAT Felix Padilla in September,) also allowing illegals who already broke the law to come here, to remain if they haven't committed a crime since they've been here. He voted against President Trump's Big, Beautiful Bill this year which included border security funds. Those are the things Rand Paul supports, and more, like wanting to take away President's Trump power to determine tariffs. If he's a Conservative, why is he voting with the RATS lock-step to keep the government closed? He's a Grandstander, nothing more.
