Unfortunately, some groups are known to typically not tip or tip no more than $2 a person whatever they order. Then when the waitresses don’t want to take those tables here comes Jessie Jackson for the shakedown. (This happened to Denny’s.)

That same group is also known for eating a meal and then complaining about it to get a discount or an ought right free meal......seen it 1st hand many times.

Try $12 - $16 an hour.
With the current minimum wage rates, increasing the cost to eat out to a ridiculous amount, tipping should be eliminated altogether. If a waiter does a remarkably great job, slip him a $10 or $20 on down-low.

The article purposely left out the location. Some cities in Washington state and California have a minimum wage over $19 and as high as $21.10. I see no need to tip in those locales.
I tremendously over tipped during Covid. That was for a different reason.
