An influencer’s negative review of a bakery has backfired online, with the owner calling her out for “lying and bullying.”
Aurora Griffo, who regularly reviews food on her TikTok account Glamorama, shared a video critiquing popular Arizona bakery JL Patisserie, and it quickly sent the internet into a spin***
In a now-viral response video, JL Patisserie revealed the influencer had contacted them before her visit, suggesting the idea of a collaboration with them.
CEO Jenna Leurquin claimed the bakery “respectfully declined” because they just couldn’t accommodate the request in their budget.
“Then she essentially tried to blackmail us by saying if we offered the food for free, she would write a good review about us,” she explained in her response video.
Griffo showed up the next day despite no agreement being in place. That’s when the bad review came, leaving a sour taste in the mouth of the business owner.

About six miles from me, but probably out of my budget.
About 30 minutes from us. If I am in the area, I will give it a try.
Nice bakery you got here. Too bad if it got some bad reviews.
Demanding free food for good reviews and “exposure” is all too common in the “influencer” world. A good term for this behavior is, extortion.
More often than not the “influencer” has only a small following.
Good on the Bakery owner, but why can’t she get her supplies from America?
How exactly does a person become an influencer?
What is truly sad is that people supposedly take this persons word and are influenced by it. The old adage goes like this , opinions are like ___holes ,everybody has them and they all stink. Live it,learn it,love it.
Get your likeness on a can of light beer.
Post videos on social media, attract followers. Nothing more than that. It helps a great deal to be an attractive young woman, that it’s not necessary for all content.
There are a fair number of people who simply film what they do as tow truck drivers, heavy rescue on-road and off, car repair/restoration, firearms shenanigans, etc.
The most important thing is, you have to be entertaining.
Yeah, it seems like the worst offenders have the fewest followers. My nephew has more followers than Ben just because he posted about his baby goats as they grew up.
VLDL did that skit because dumb “influencers” annoy them as much or more than the rest of us.
I am so BLEEPING sick of the word “influencer.” I don’t care if it relates to a leftie or a conservative. I just wish the entire concept would freaking DIE.
I can believe it about the goats! My kids got their first phones about the time we also started raising goats, and now I have an insane number of goat pictures archived that they took. It’s a good thing they didn’t have their own social media accounts or they’d be in competition with your nephew.
By threatening businesses?
Seems like the old payola scam from radio DJ’s to play an artists record/song.
Best response!
