My wife was a paraprofessional for 20 years. The last few years of her being in a school she noticed a marked decrease of respect for not only her by some students, but other teachers and students as well. And the school administrators did nothing but coddle the troublemakers.
She and I both retired in 2020. She was burnt out, and COVID shut the schools down, so it was the perfect time…she was glad to get out.
