“The fighting will stop. Gaza will begin rebuilding.”
—————
That is simply not going to happen. Hamas is already reneging on the simplest parts of this agreement. They will never voluntarily disarm. They will never voluntarily give up power. They spent most of the last few days butchering anyone among their own people who they thought either cooperated with the Israelis, or who might possibly be opposition to their continued rule over Gaza. What is going on is no more and no less than a very temporary cease-fire. The only way for there to be peace in Gaza is for Israel to utterly defeat Hamas, down to virtually the last teenage fanatic, and to then remove the entire population from that territory. It’s just not going to happen any other way.
This peace won’t last long.
Board of Peace”
sounds more like a death knell for the obsolete, etremist, and utterly useless United Nations.
I knew it, I knew it. If there is war, it is portentous of the end. If there is peace, it is portentous of the end.
The players Daniel wrote about involved totally different players of a different time.
Hamas has already violated the agreement. They have not disarmed, but are roaming about shooting those they consider traitors to the cause. As far as I know there is no one monitoring them closely to assure disarming.
The release of the dead isn’t going well and I don’t believe they will disarm.
Maybe the dust devils have been reading The Bible and are afraid of what follows the peace. No Peace means No Final Reckoning, and No Jahannam.
Thank goodness for the endless warfare and strife in the Middle East news or Dispensationalists would run out of things to make predictions about. For the last 150 years or so, every time someone passes gas there, someone sees Armageddon upon us.
But even if this peace agreement is perfect, it does not change that there are prophecies that must be fulfilled that have not been or have only partially been fulfilled.
In Daniel 9 the Antichrist is described as “the prince of the covenant” (i.e. treaty) who will “confirm a covenant with many for one week,” (i.e. 7 years). But he will break the treaty halfway into it (i.e 3.5 years) in what is described as the a”abomination of desolation”.
Could this be the covenant the Antichrist will “confirm” in his attempt to gain total power, including over Israel?
I don't know. But a peace treaty with Israel has huge prophetic ramifications.
