The South Atlantic Anomaly has been there since the earliest days of satellites.

It changed reliable attenuation of incoming charged particles and satellites passing through would have their memory damaged.

This has not changed. Still happens. But if that situation is growing, satellite lifetime is going to shrink

Yes. This comes up every every ten years or so and a bunch of people start fear mongering about the imminent magnetic pole flip.

They should be worried about the other kind of pole flip (tectonic) where Antarctica moves closer to the equator and North America moves closer to the North Pole
