Fox News’ Peter Doocy checked in on Trump’s push to secure a seat in heaven after the president rushed to lock down an Israel-Hamas peace deal ahead of the highly anticipated Nobel Prize announcement last week.
“I mean, you know, I’m being a little cute,” Trump said. “I don’t think there’s anything [that’s] going to get me in heaven. Okay? I think I’m not maybe heaven-bound.”
“I may be in heaven right now as we fly in Air Force One. I’m not sure I’m going to be able to make heaven, but I’ve made life a lot better for a lot of people,” he went on.
It’s no secret that getting into heaven has been on the 79-year-old president’s mind. In August, Trump told Fox News that he had personal motivations to put an end to the Russia-Ukraine war, which he previously claimed he could end on day one of his second term.
“If I can save 7,000 people a week from being killed, I think that’s a pretty—I want to try and get to heaven if possible,” he said at the time. “I’m hearing I’m not doing well. I hear I’m really at the bottom of the totem pole. If I can get to heaven, this will be one of the reasons.”
Days later, Trump formalized his pearly gates campaign on paper by blasting a fundraising email that opened with the line, “Friend, I want to try and get to Heaven.”
The president’s… musings reemerged last week when he told reporters in a rambling press conference that he wanted to be good “because you wanna prove to God you’re good so you go to that next step.”
Trump has repeatedly claimed that the failed assassination attempts on him last year were God’s way of fulfilling his greater destiny.

🙏
He only needs to repent of his past actions and give his life to Christ.
Sometimes, the person who has the most doubt is the one who has repented of his past.
None of us are getting into heaven on our own.
He really can’t picture going to Heaven “for free”. He wants to work for it. But I think he is on a journey. The fact that this even is on his mind is spiritual growth for him.
Keep Trump in prayer.
Prayers up indeed!
And: “blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called the children of God.”
Proper attitude. Nobody knows the mind of God. You can only try.
It’s interesting that you mention Constantine. A number of commentators have made the comparison of Trump to Constantine. In both case, we’re talking about strong leaders who restored failing civic institutions. In both cases, their lives generally were not characterized by personal religiosity, and yet both proved to be great friends and benefactors of Christians.
i wish Billy Graham was still here to go talk some Gospel sense into the President. he had a deep understanding and way with these powerful men. men like Trump have a problem waiting on God. they think why wait, i’ll just get it done. and then the get it done their way. hard to argue the need for God with these type of men.
however, we have to recall the Word of God that it is still ‘...harder for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God, than a camel to go through the eye of the needle.’
It’s not the proper attitude. You can’t “try” to get into Heaven. You can’t do anything on this planet to earn your way there. You simply have to repent, accept Jesus as your Savior by virtue of being the Son of God and have faith in God’s mercy. Someone needs to tell him, but he is probably a bit hard-headed about such things and will have to come to this understanding on his own, just as we all do.
“i wish Billy Graham was still here to go talk some Gospel sense into the President.”
It’s been reported often that Trump was saved at one of Graham’s last birthday parties. If he did make a decision for Christ, he would’ve benefited from follow-up.
He needs to understand that if the decision was sincere, he will see Heaven.
For anyone who actually watched him say this, it was clearly said in a tongue in cheek, humorous way by President Trump. It was an expression of humility on his part, but also said in a light-hearted way. I wouldn’t over analyze or read too much into it.
He knows the way. Even if he’d never heard ‘the way’ he heard what it takes during the Charlie Kirk memorial. The Gospel was exclaimed loud and clear, first by the wonderful music/song and then by his own cabinet and in particular, Sec Rubio.
absolutely!
“He only needs to repent of his past actions and give his life to Christ.”
Supposedly, Billy Graham led him to the Lord not long before he died.
i hope so. if Billy started him off, he’s started off right. also, while there’s life there is hope.
but, most Christians know getting saved is just the start.
you’re given the Holy Spirit and regenerated; but while you live, your faith will be tested and tested again by our Lord. growth is required (imho). free will apostasy is possible (unless you’re a Calvinist, etc.). the Way through life to the Kingdom is simply to ‘...deny yourself and follow Me.’ to stay in the faith and finish the race is to continue to study His Word, forsake not assembly with your brethren in His Presence, seek His will and obey His commandments.
i sense humility in President Trump (despite his reputation and public persona). he treats everyone who doesn’t attack him personally with great kindness, respect and even gentleness. he seems genuinely shocked when these people attack him for doing good. (which of course is another spiritual blindspot Billy could explain to him.)
I believe President Trump is now landing in Israel to address the Knesset and help welcome the hostages expected to be released. There are some rumblings about last minute changes in lists of Palestinian prisoners to be released and some concern that not all the hostages promised for release will actually appear. Trump then goes to Egypt to participate in the multi-national conference about the peace deal.
I hope for the best of course, but I have to say, this situation seems potentially very dangerous to me and Trump could be finding out sooner than expected how he’s doing about getting into heaven. Mind you, once in I imagine he would be running the place within days.
At Charlie Kirk’s memorial, the gospel was given 10 times. Is Trump not smart enough to know what the gospel is.It’s a gift. For God’s loved the world that he gave his only begotten that whosoever believe in him should not parish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16 How hard is it. If you believe that you have to earn your way into heaven, hell will be your home.
He has paid his debt for whatever sins he may have made. He has been persecuted by millions of far left lunatics. He has had at least two attempts to murder him. He has given up billions to be president and he is making life easier for Americans despite the left. Not quite Jesus, but I think Jesus would be happy to have Pres. Trump with him in Heaven. But I hope that doesn’t happen for a long time. God bless Pres. Trump!
