It seems to interfere with glucose and insulin.

Some babies cannot handle folic acid at all. In fact, it undoes the nutrition provided by folate.
Look up MTFR mutation.
If you are a carrier, you might want to move to non-processed bread/rice, foreign bread/rice that does not add it, or the rare product that adds more expensive folate instead.
