At my daughter’s graduation from engineering school, 90+% of the advanced degrees in some departments went to Asian students, more South than East. How many of those were foreign students rather than Americans? Guessing more than half.

I have never worked in the NY/NJ metro but have done so in most of the other major metros. What you describe is what I have seen happen in the IT industry of those areas.

As a near victim, I can tell you that H1Bs are cheap foreign labor. Nothing else. There’s nothing worse than getting replaced by incompetent Indians. Indian H1Bs are basically indentured servants. Not to mention H1Bs are disgusting because of the overwhelming smell of curry.
And the other half were “legal” anchor babies.
It’s more important that the 55 million low-skill illegals go home, but we already have other legal paths for prodigies.
I’m not sure you read what I did - I read that Trump’s changes to the HIB Program aren’t going to hurt any businesses because, if the person is good enough, the cost is worth it...I’m not concerned for other Asian students (India is part of Asia) either....This still opens more doors for American students/workers.
Open up shop in India or China, Griffin. Your sole interest is on the bottom line and not the welfare of US students.
Far bigger pool with more above-average types making it over here, from cultures and schools that haven’t completely crashed their educational systems as we have here. Brains aren’t evenly distributed by country, and yes, some populations repeatedly score above ours.

But he admitted that he got a lot of his smarts from American Paul Goddard.
And don’t kid yourself in thinking he designed the still unmatched Saturn F1 rocket engines and a lot of the Apollo subsystems.
That was done by scores of hard working American engineers, most in their twenties, solving one problem after another.
Remember Apollo 13?
Didn’t see many of them genius Indian H-1Bers there, did you?
Consider the impact on our universities. It may break some of them.
But that’s just one of the benefits. There are others.
So many smart people yet they still crap in the streets and dump human remains in their water supply.
