The Monterey County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested a man they say was wanted for an armed robbery and brandishing a handgun in Pajaro, on Monday.
The man, identified as Agustin Ayala Castellanos of the Watsonville and Pajaro areas, was arrested a week after his first crime.
On Sept. 29, deputies responded to a report of a victim that had a gun brandished at him in the parking lot of a convenience store located at the intersection of San Juan Road and Porter Drive. The victim said Castellanos asked him for money while he “racked” the handgun multiple times before leaving the area.
Later that day, deputies responded to a report of an armed robbery at a restaurant. Employees said Castellanos entered the restaurant holding a gun in his hand and told them he was hungry. After the staff prepared and gave him the food, he left without further incident, according to police.
Deputies located Castellanos on Oct. 6 in Watsonville and he was taken into custody without incident.
Castellanos was booked into the Monterey County Jail for armed robbery and violation of probation.
His bail was set at $50,000.

Red beans and rice?
At best, he did not really want to shoot anybody, and/or he was out of ammo. At least, he only asked for a meal at the restaurant., and left the convenience store with nothing.
I know, I know, you’ve got to “Look at the bright side of life! Look at the bright side of life! All together now!”
I prefer to look at the “earn a living like the rest of us, a-hole” side of things. Guy wanted back into jail.

How do they know it was his first crime - and is he citizen or illegal?
