It’s ok H1Bs will man our armed forces, right?
The original immigrants we got, at least to a large degree, came here in pursuit of an idea, freedom.
That’s not the case today.
Most just want a big home with a pool, Mercedes, and some designer clothes, but care little about actual freedom and liberty.
Very few from what I see are in pursuit of anything deeper and values based. In fact, some of these immigrants from the Middle East (not all, but some) actually despise us. They see us as the “enemy.”
I get being smart about complex issues that have many facets to them (people like to over simplify). I understand that in reality there are two sides to every story and if you’re truly objective regards the backstory on most conflicts, things are messy and there is a shared responsibility. There are often no easy answers, only less than perfect compromises. Formulating good policy requires taking all these aspects into account.
But today we’re getting a lot of folks that become US citizen because they got squeezed out on US soil, or came in as a refugee etc but share none of our values and often even hate is! These are not just people that have depth on an issue. They are playing for the other team.
A case I was involved with: https://archives.fbi.gov/archives/saltlakecity/press-releases/2013/boise-man-arrested-terrorism-charges-filed-in-idaho-and-utah. You get people today that get brought here, LIVE OFF TAX PAYERS EXPENSE (the whole family basically), while they plot terror attacks! It’s absurd.
Trump cracking down on this, may it be deporting criminal aliens, trying to change the law regards citizenship, what nations we allow people to come in from... It’s all long overdue. People like Obama exacerbated the problem.
