A Cuban customer this morning, knowing I speak Spanish, asked me if I knew of someone to rent three RV trailers he has empty. He has two at $750 each and one at $900 per month (to give one an idea of RV rents in the poorer part of Austin).

I asked him why they were empty. He said, "¿No ve? Están huyendo." (Don't you see? They're fleeing.). It appears the administration's efforts at immigration control here are having a tremendous impact and causing more widespread self-deportation than previously reported. Also, my wife has been trying to sell two lots adjacent to each other overlooking the city of Dolores Hidalgo in Mexico. Prime property. Hasn't been moving. Boom, two weeks ago sold. So, they ARE returning home.

AUSTIN, Texas — "Austin ISD on Friday announced plans to potentially close 13 schools as part of a consolidation effort driven by declining enrollment and budget constraints. District officials said the proposal would rezone students to other campuses in an effort to better allocate resources and reduce costs."

Looks like a lot of niños & niñas went Adios! To the detriment of AISD looking at a $20 million budget shortfall. The school superintendent had a deer in the headlights look on his face in his interview with KXAN while saying "doing nothing is not an option". They built their budget planning on the shifting sands of illegal aliens. Sucks to be them.
