no the company couldn’t allow that to happen. Not supporting certain areas would be racist. On Uber eats, in the “bad” areas no one wants to drive to, or pick up people, the company puts bonuses on the map. So if you look on your map, they will literally have a little circle around a certain town with up to about a $12 bonus per trip. That motivates people to go there and service that area. Otherwise Uber would have to deal with the negative social media. They’d sooner throw money at the problem than seem biased

Saw that on the local news last night. My comment to the wife - That would last about 15 minutes in the City of Atlanta proper (which is like 10% of the metro area).

Chick-fil-A had a trial of a similar thing out here in the far suburbs, last year IIRC. I saw it a couple times cruising around.

Gee I dunno... Nobody thought Bezos' schemes would fly, but he figured out how. Now he's cruising the Mediterranean while the rest of us are...well...not.

I can order anything from a nail file to a computer from Amazon. If I don't like it, Whole Foods sends it back for me, no questions asked.

I can order a jar of artichokes, and it arrives at my doorstep the same day.

When I lived in San Francisco, I could get anything in the world I wanted, but it would take me all day to go and get it. Now I can peruse Amazon from the Middle of Nowhere and order it in five minutes without leaving my easy chair.

Every time I order from Amazon I marvel at Bezos' brilliance!

It also makes me green with envy that I wasn't smart enough to do what he did!

I'd be cruising the Mediterranean right now!

It would be super easy to put 50,000-150,000 volts of say 1000hz of positive potential to the frame and shell of that bot. So high that it nearly jumps the air gap from the tires to the ground. A human being 75% by mass salt water is more conductive than air. Even wearing rubber sole shoes and rubber gloves is not good enough at higher voltages the dielectric barrier fails. Once contact is made to switch to high voltage high frequency AC that makes any conceivable insulation irrelevant you are getting shocked if you touch it period. Amps killw, volts do not you can make it very unpleasant , or like a stun gun or kill it’s all about the amps. The next outer layer of PSO would be targeted LED in the 100,000 lumen range that pulse at random PWM so bright sunglasses would be useless it would be physically painful to look at it and would white your vision out with semis permanent visual artifacts like staring at the sun but oh so much worse. This effect has 25 meter or so range if you can’t look at it you can’t steal it. The next layer would be 150 decibel directed sound blaster that is so far above the pain threshold that evens 30db ear plugs AND 30fps ear muffs would not help your skull will conduct sound waves of this pressure directly to the inner ear you would need a full helmet with vacuum insulation to enter such a sound field.

None of the above methods are expensive relative to the machinr. Humans are fragile creature’s if you know how to target those weaknesses and have the boffins with the will to make such devices there is little limit to the level of pain we boffins can bring to man. I could think up a few more unpleasantries or lethality level for such drones. Xrays from and electron gun and electron beams themselves immediately come to mind. Water guns with conductive salty water for stand off electrical stock treatments, lace the water with UV dye the kind that you must grow new skin to get rid of which takes months. You could of course put butyric acid which smells like vomit so bad it triggers uncontrolled vomiting in humans. Or go for CS gas with all its nerve twitching greatness. There are a number of agents that don’t kill that not only burn but are CNS disrupters that you don’t need to inhale transdermal exposure is enough better be in a full body wet suit and NBC rated gas mask. Like I said PSO that’s physical security operations is a matter of will and boffin involvement.
