That poster showing a ploy to attract “abortion tourists” to California (and Gov. Gretchen Whitmer pushes Michigan for the same thing) still triggers my anger.

While saying she doesn’t specifically mean Michigan is benefiting from abortion tourism financially, she said indirectly the abortion friendly state will gain in economic development by its stance.

“Executive Order to block extradition: In July 2022, Whitmer signed an executive order refusing to extradite anyone to another state for seeking, providing, or assisting with an abortion that is legal in Michigan. The order ensures that providers in Michigan and patients traveling there will not face prosecution from out-of-state authorities.
Protecting data privacy: In May 2024, Whitmer directed the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) to issue a reminder about data privacy. This was in response to concerns that law enforcement might use personal health data to prosecute people seeking reproductive care.”
