Why it’s almost as dumb as putting the President, the Vice-President, the entire Senate, the entire House of Representatives, and the entire Supreme Court all in one building in order to hear a State of The Union speech that could easily just be dropped on YouTube.
I wondered what sense the order made when I first heard it.
If it’s a test is to prove the capabilities of those left in command if every chief were suddenly removed (while the meeting was held), that would be one way to do it.

It is a dangerous move. Not doubt about that. The only possible justification for such a meeting is that Hegseth’s message must be of extreme importance. Something so important that only a face-to-face meeting will do.
I can think of one such message. Zero tolerance towards woke policies going forward. Back to the traditional warrior spirit. No more transsexuals dancing on flight decks. No more DEI promotions.
And if any flag officer disagrees, get up and get out. Now.

You’ll be proven wrong when the meeting takes place and nothing happens. (Are we at war with anybody?) If something did happen, a lot of junior officers would get a promotion.
I’m not military, just a civilian and this meeting isn’t problematic from my perspective.
Also, half the overpaid “woke fat” in the room should probably be canned sometime this year.

Well, it's not like they can do a Stalin on the senior officers. Someone may just be thinking outside the box.
Almost all those guys have spent all but a little under 5 years of their careers getting promotions under Clinton - Bush - Obama - Biden. We aren't talking cream of the crop here.
