Utah doesn’t use public defenders for capital cases. Up to three attorneys and $1M public funds. Private lawyers paid with public (translation: taxpayer) money. God knows how much they are allowed to bill per hour.

POS Ralph Menzies has been on death row in Utah for nearly 40 years and just won another appeal. How many $$Millions do you think this has cost the taxpayers (so far)?

Why are there three appointed? I would think one attorney should be able to handle a murder case? What is so special about this one?
