They have local elections next year. At the current pace, Labour might lose some major cities to Reform. I don’t know how much power the cities have in defying the national government’s edicts on immigration and rounding people up, but imagine the Democrats running the country so badly that the Republicans win the California and Oregon state elections in the midterms.
