Statistics can be tricky. For example, if Russia has a muslim population of 15%, and Ireland 2%, and the UK 5%, and we assume that muslims generally don't drink, then the per capita consumption rate gets skewed.

It also matters that Russians are drinking lots of toxic moonshine (samogon).

Starts out saying the numbers are corrupted by the label, but they intermarry and are assimilated and somewhat no longer muslim. No telling what that does to alcohol consumption.

Is this reddit talk trustworthy? No more or less so than anything else, since we’ve come to learn that the media makes no effort at accuracy. At least sources something more than anonymous (though I don’t know how traceable Reddit is)
