Income from gasoline exports do not constitute the whole of the Russian Federation's income from the exportation of energy products, nevertheless, that the government is forced to enact such a ban on exports is revealing of the depth of financial problems confronting Putin.

At a time when Putin is announced increased VAT taxes because of shortfalls of revenue, Russia can hardly afford to lose additional income. I believe that the combination of deep strikes into Russia affecting refineries and pipelines, together with cumulative effect of sanctions, has completely reversed the course of the war in Ukraine.

I believe Trump has been briefed on these facts and that has occasioned his recent remarks concerning the capacity of the Ukraine to evict Russia from conquered territory.

Now is the time for Donald Trump to release the restrictions on the use of longer-range missiles to double down on the pressure on Russian petroleum production and its capacity to wage illegal invasion of Ukraine.
