Twelve small homes sit upon acres of manicured lawn in the Texas countryside.

Under the warm sun, the residents that call this gated community home live a rather idyllic life: there’s a fit pit, yoga, book club and a swimming pool.

It’s peaceful and supportive. And for those that want to live here there are two simple rules: no men, and no drama.

The Bird’s Nest is a five-acre women-only commune, and the brainchild of 70-year-old Robyn Yerian.

I did too. It was called a barracks. Everyone gets along famously as long as there isn't a thief, or a ****watcher in the shower room.

I got rid of the drama in my life without having to live in a women-only commune. The fact that she needs other women around her means she still loves drama in her life. I’m a 78 year old woman, had two sisters, and my first job after high school was in an office full of women of all ages. I was the youngest in the group. There was drama galore!! Got divorced 46 years ago. Raised my two sons alone. I had one close female friend for 50+ years who passed in June. We lived next door to each other, and our kids played together. The only other close female relationship I have is my only niece. I visit her and her family as often as I can. They live about 3 hours away. I’m a loner by habit and choice, and it’s served me well all these years. You are never lonely if you like yourself, and have your own interests that don’t include others. Some people feel they have to be entertained by others all the time. I’m not one of them.
