She needs to be behind bars for a very long time.
No she doesn’t. It was basic spray painted vandalism, removed in a day... yes, it is made worse because it was rude and dishonoring a memorial, but that doesn’t make it rise to the level of rape or murder or anything else. One month in jail is more than enough for a very solid attitude adjustment in something this mild. Sentenced to 6 mo, out in 3, would even be slightly harsh to me.
I have long felt that crimes of this sort should be punished not only by death(in capital punishment cases) but by some additional punishment in addition to a jail sentence (or more) so as to dis-incentivise some other person from committing a similar crime.
