The first three (technically four) weeks of the college football season have come and gone, with Ohio State, Penn State, and LSU continuing to notch victories as they maintain their spots as the nation's top three teams in the latest AP Top 25 poll. In other rankings news, Texas A&M jumped into the top-10 this week while Notre Dame—now 0-2—fell 16 (!) spots to No. 24.

Fox's Big Noon Kickoff has a local kickoff of 10 am as Texas Tech pays a visit to Utah. This is a show me game as the vaunted bought and paid for Texas Tech roster faces it first real opponent of the year. Utah is a 3-point home favorite.
The 3:30 ET window offers two compelling games as we have the Jackson Arnold Bowl as Auburn with its Sooner reject QB pays a visit to Norman. The Sooners are a 7 point home favorite. Michigan true freshman Bryce Underwood makes his 2nd big time away start as the Wolverines visit Lincoln. This might be the biggest home game for Nebraska in a long time. Matt Ruhle has a proven track record of turning around teams in his 3rd year. Michigan is a 1.5 point road favorite
There are two prime time matchups of interest. The U hosts the Gators with the dead man walking coach Sunbelt Billy. Last year the Gators did not give up so we shall see if that continues this year. Gator defense played tough against LSU. Is Lagway just as overhyped as Arch Manning? Miami is a 9.5 point favorite with pro-Miami money pushing up the line by 2 points. The 2nd game is a Top 25 match up as Illinois visit Indiana. This is another show me game, as Indiana has played variations of the Little Sisters of the Poor. Vegas believes Indiana is the better team, despite the AP ranking, as the Hoosiers are 6.5 point favorites.
If you are up at 11 pm there is the Iliad Bowl as the Michigan State Spartans play the USC Trojans at the Coliseum. Looks like Sparty needs some help from the Olympian gods as they are a 18.5 point dogs.
Saw a Joel Klatt show the other day when he was talking of Nebraska being 0-26 against ranked teams, soon to be another.
“Saw a Joel Klatt show the other day when he was talking of Nebraska being 0-26 against ranked teams, soon to be another.”
Joel Klatt is still butthurt because Nebraska always kicked Colorado ass while Joel was a QB for the Bison.
I think @dwgator would agree...we hope this is Billy’s last game in Black, Orange and Blue.
The 8:00 PM kickoff for the USC-Michigan State game is the latest in the 137-year history of USC football. If you attend the game and park outside the Coliseum parking facilities, you will be walking back to your car through the gang-infested streets of LA around midnight—or even after if the game goes into overtime.
This insane scheduling is supposedly for TV, but who watches games so late at night? And what ever happened to playing games on Saturday afternoon, which, until recent years, is when most games in the country were played?
That’s 11pm start for the travelling Spartans
Coaches who won’t make it till the end of the season:
Napier-Florida
Gundy- Oklahoma State
Pittman- Arkansas
maybe Fickell- Wisconson
Can’t believe Arky lost.
Guns Up!
2nd week in a row they are going in for the win late in the game and they give up the ball...
Off topic, but this is a sports thread, so whatthehay...
Just watched the last race at Churchill Downs, a maiden race.
The second-place horse was “Nonconsecutivetrms”.
By Not This Time (a son of Giant’s Causeway) out of All American Girl (an American Pharoah daughter).
This is such poor play calling. Again.
The handwriting is on the wall.
Worst coach, ever!

Frankly I was hoping Miami would have blown us out.
Hopefully this was enough to finally end it, given we have a bye week next week.

I was on the bandwagon of Florida being in the top 20 again, but as Lee Corso says, “Not so fast!”
Why are the Gators doing this to their fans?
Napier’s time is UP.
Who replaces him? The university should get my approval first.
