Wow, I think my FR post some years ago about the advances in detection efforts and technology would push the number to 5000 (I'm not looking for that post, btw) was an underestimate.

These discoveries are what this age will be most known for.

The age of AI will vastly accelerate the rate of space exploration.

We are now on track to make the star trek prediction of Warp Drive in 2062.

The next 100 years will look more like America’s first 100 years than the last 100 years.

...Habitable...”

They keep using that word.

I don’t think it means what they think it means.

I was mentioning in church a couple of years ago that nothing in the bible precludes God from creating quadrillions of earth-like planets with sentient beings as his imagers just as he did on earth.

The bible is, in fact, earth centric when it comes to the physical realm. It is silent on any other ones. Its story is Earth’s story and his relationship with those who dwell on it.

Bag of marbles.

With about as much relevance or use.

If we were a degree or two closer to this sun... We'd burn to death... A degree or two farther and we'd be an ice ball.

And don't forget... You need a sun exactly the same as ours and a planet with a rotation exactly the same as ours... I'm sure there are tons of planets like that out there... And of course... They all have the ability to support life which has resulted in hundreds of thousands of different life forms, and just one out those hundreds of thousands of life forms that exist on these miracle planets, is actually aware of itself and has developed to the point where they can travel the speed of light and visit distant galaxies... Something we haven't even accomplished and likely never will before our species is extinct... That is completely plausible... LOL.. Nope... More like LMFAO.

Give your freaking heads a shake... We are alone... God created us and then he broke the mold.

Th-, Th-, Th-, That's all folks!

These discoveries are what this age will be most known for.

I think this age will be remembered as "The Collapse of Western Civilization".

We are alone... God created us and then he broke the mold.

I wholeheartedly disagree! I believe God filled up the Cosmos with life.

I wouldn’t, for two reasons:

1. I have no confidence that the ship’s systems could be kept running for even decades let alone the tens of thousands of years it would take to reach another star.

2. I foresee it rapidly turning into a Logan’s Run situation.
