Judge drops terror charge against Luigi Mangione as police warn business leaders of rising assassination risks

A New York judge has tossed Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg's terrorism charges against suspected UnitedHealthcare CEO assassin Luigi Mangione.

The suspected killer appeared court Tuesday morning shortly after the NYPD warned that business leaders and political figures may be at an increased risk less than a week after a sniper shot and killed Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk during a public event at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah.

Mangione faces a slew of state and federal charges after police allege he stalked and ambushed Brian Thompson, the health insurer's chief executive and a married father of two from Minnesota who was visiting New York City for an investor conference.

"There was no evidence presented of a desire to terrorize the public, inspire widespread fear, engage in a broader campaign of violence, or to conspire with organized terrorist groups," Judge Gregory Carro found in a 12-page written decision. "Here, the crime - the heinous, but targeted and discrete killing of one person -- is very different from the examples of terrorism set forth in the statute."

Thank you very much and God bless you.

With all the focus on the evil killing of Kirk it’s easy to miss this story. But the two are intricately connected. This is EXACTLY the type of kinetic war being waged on us by the Far left. The radical ANTIFA types want us all dead, they are just starting at the top. IMO

Surprisingly it was a Judge appointed by a Republican that made the ruling , Pataki.

On X they are saying Mangione isn’t even getting 1st degree murder charges, they have been dropped to 2nd degree.

Inconceivable.

The whole point of the murder was to terrorize other insurance executives.

Carro is nuts.

Carro is nuts.

Yup. It is my understanding that the little creep is still subject to federal charges, including terrorism. If the federal government so chooses to press them.

If...

Traveling many miles over days, laying in wait for a specific target and executing him in cold blood apparently does not constitute first degree murder in NY.

Assume the Feds will get a bite at this once he’s aquitted in NY.

Bragg will throw the case with help from a Manhattan jury. The lesson is if you want to commit terrorism and murder do it in Manhattan. And they’re gonna elect a muzzie terrorist as Mayor.

An airplane full of people slams into a building or shooting people on the street on at a time both are terror, designed to inflict both casualties and fear, quantities don’t matter, intent does.

Well this should spark and interesting judicial discussion on what constitutes “terrorism.” This judge seems to have taken a first cut at such a discussion. Hopefully local, State and federal agencies will challenge and appeal the ruling.

I find it hard to believe that in reading the killers manifesto and the public statements after the assassination that other health care and business leaders were not terrorized. The amount of support that the killer got in both the press and in monetary contributions to his defense implies that the killer was supported by public sentiment.

It would be interesting to compare this violent life ending action, to say acts by ANTIFA and say historic anarchist acts such as the 1920’s Sacco and Vanzetti robbery.

My personal opinion is that anarchy is a form of terrorism. However with all the liberals say that Hamas was justified in their October 7th, 2023 butchery and kidnapping in Israel, those on the left seem to have an unusual definition of terrorism that I do not share.

I know right?

As far as I understand Mangione had never even met the man so he targeted him because he was part of a group..health care system. So he was targeting a whole group….and that’s not terrorism.

WTH🤔

He murdered a guy; that doesn’t make it a terroristic act.

.
I wonder if these judges would continue to release murderers, if judges were the target instead of Christians?
