The Trump administration’s first US weapons aid packages for Ukraine have been approved and could soon ship as Washington resumes sending arms to Kyiv - this time under a new financial agreement with allies, two sources familiar with the situation told Reuters on Tuesday.

This is the first use of a new mechanism developed by the US and allies to supply Ukraine with weapons from US stocks using funds from NATO countries.

Undersecretary of Defense for Policy Elbridge Colby has approved as many as two $500 million shipments under the new mechanism called the Priority Ukraine Requirements List, known under the acronym PURL, the sources said.

Words fail me when I try to express how Great our President is!

Our enemies will fall, they will be trampled underfoot, and their ashes will be scattered to the winds!

Good. Let the EU pay for the shit that happens in their own backyard. The U.S. has been covering the defense of NATO member nations for decades. It will be interesting to see if the EU nations who also belong to NATO can cough up the extra 3% of their GDP they just agreed to. I don’t expect miracles since they dragged their feet getting up to the 2% they agreed to in 2014.

We need the money. I’m cool with selling them weapons as long as we’re not paying for them.

President Trump is helping to supply Ukraine with the weapons they need while also having American troops training the Ukrainian military in Germany, as we also have troops in the nations around Ukraine and Russia while we continue to benefit from the Russian invasion in our capabilities and strategic positioning against China.

Japan just sent air forces to Europe.

Japan Sends Air Force to NATO Bases As Threats Emerge on Multiple Fronts
“The deployment of the Japanese air force—its first mission to Europe and Canada—follows the conclusion of a British aircraft carrier’s operations in Northeast Asia.

Moscow, Beijing and Pyongyang, part of an authoritarian bloc known as the “Axis of Upheaval,” strongly oppose NATO’s reach into Asia, accusing the U.S.-led military alliance of inciting a new Cold War that undermines regional security and stability.”

This is not America First.

Shipment/sales from US stockpiles which are already depleted.

This is Ukraine First.

Could we use some of the weapons being sold? Probably, especially air defense. But unless Congress allocates funding for it, we aren’t going to get them anyway or at least only by following the drawn out procurement schedule we already have.

It would cost us 20 trillion to do what Russia does, at least. I think we are still waiting for our first hypersonic, that’s how far we are behind.

Hi, Happy.

Got two "Putin hoes" already into one thread. Great! They can go along with those Russian shovels, because garden tools......

Raking Freepers over the coals! Mowing them down! Getting in your digs!

You sure can call a spade a spade, and get away with it.

Well, say something of value if I am wrong. As it is they out produce the US and ALL of NATO by a margin of 4 to 1 and we’re spending a trillion right now and have nothing much to show for it.
