Any Catholic institution such as ND must be aware of how that works, and be vigilant with prayer, sacraments, sacramentals or it’s a perfect ground for evil takeover.
It is not executed in the form of quotas (banned by the Supreme Court in the late 1970s), it does not discriminate against white men and it certainly does not hire unqualified individuals (which is against federal law).

The question is did they get into those schools because they were black and filled slots or because of their academic achievement.
That’s the problem with affirmative action - it can push people beyond their ability and lower the overall group performance. Shiela Jackson Lee was a joke and KJ Brown isn’t recognized so far as being all that brilliant to say the least. Michelle’s thesis was described by Christopher Hitchens as “not being written in any known language”.
There are plenty of really intelligent black women who don’t need DEI. They should be promoted - not the PC blacks propped up by DEI.

ND is run by their Board of Trustees, most of whom are rich, liberal Democrat lawyers from Chicago. It’s a stretch to call it a “Catholic institution,” unfortunately. Their theology department isn’t a total loss, at least.
