Eventually, there were other issues that were more important such as the economy in 2024.
But in 2022, but we know that the Democrats are very good at manipulation, after all it is what they do all the time. They were able to frame it as that the Republicans took away the right to choose. And they were able to motivate their voters to show up.
So Roe vs Wade was a huge issue and that was why we didn't have a "Red Wave" in 2022.
If I had wheels, I’d be a streetcar.
We are now several years past the overturn of Roe, and a states’ rights regimen has replaced it. States now have a right to choose, and the legislatures of those states are answerable to women voters as well.
Even a Dem POTUS cannot be certain to get a SCOTUS who will overturn the overturn, and reinstate Roe, which was a bad decision regardless of whether or not you’re pro-choice. It was badly written law about a critical issue, who is and is not human, which is a question SCOTUS flubbed back in the 1800s, too, ruling that blacks are not human so can be enslaved and returned to their masters even from a free state to which they fled. That ended well/sarc Abortion is no longer a major issue, even with women. Murder and mayhem in the streets and illegal immigration...ah...Trumped it.
Tomatoes, tomahtoes. It’s now established law that it’s up to the states.
What was huge in 22 is now minor. They can’t manipulate people into voting their way on account of Roe anymore.
A lot of it depends on who will be POTUS in the near future. Then he gets to select new Justices for the SCOTUS. If there is a Democratic majority on the SCOTUS, they will just have a repeat of the original Roe vs Wade ruling.
I will agree with you on this; 2022 can be lain right at the feet of Ms. Romney.
Also the turtle, who was too preoccupied with keeping his best pal Murkowski in office to help out any challengers. Ms. Romney should not be trusted anywhere near political campaigns.
Only if they have open seats to fill. I don’t think they will, unless they are serious about going full “night and fog” on the justices presently seated. In the natural course of longevity, Thomas is the only one I worry about. Alito would be no loss, and Brave Sir Roberts is unreliable anyway. The rest are in their primes. Thomas, however, is getting on in years, and he’s irreplaceable.
