Ok, let’s put this to rest. In 1983 I went to basic and at the firing range scored 37/40 and was awarded Expert. I had to nail 350 meter targets with open iron sights of the M16. No problem. I was 21. I did it in the prone position, and then they let me try with an AK47 and I scored expert again. To my surprise, two of my misses were the 50 meter, the close ones, as I was not ready for them and shot too fast! So, there is no reason this man or any other man couldn’t have blown someone’s head clean off at a mere 70 meters. It’s just not that hard, and a scope wouldn’t have been necessary.
And that was meters.. yards are even easier.
