There are so many historical events whose true course has fallen to the narrative that I am convinced that actual events, truth, is merely used to frame a narrative. In Columbus’s time all educated people knew the world war round. Sacco and Vanzetti were as guilty as hell, but became a cause for the Left. People build a world view based on a grain of truth and a mountain of surmise.
