Somebody needs to challenge the concept of preemptive presidential pardons. I believe I recall Democrats bringing that up after Ford “pardoned” Nixon. Indictment and conviction should be requisite for anyone even to be considered for a pardon. After all, pardoned for what?

Does Fauchi get a pardon for life?

If he is called before congress, now, he lies under oath.

Does he have a lifetime immunity?

I guess the question would be “Is it Ok for someone to accept a pardon before they are convicted?” I think we need only look at Nixon for that. He was never charged, so there wasn’t a crime.

This is a “Goose, meet Gander” thing.

If we could elect people and have people serving who don’t require pardons…that would be cool.
