thank God this was Florida, because in a blue state they would have let the bad guy go and charged the hero with a crime!
Florida doesn’t have the best gun laws in the nation - Kentucky does, I think - but what I love about Florida is that perps are bad and victims are good guys. My understanding is the families of the perps cannot launch a civil suit about the shooting because their ‘victims’ are perps, and Florida law knows the difference. Fact checks are welcome. It’s been a couple of years since I took the CCW course and got my permit.
