It makes them delay having children, because they were told to work on their career first. The consequence is depopulation.

Long term, you my be right, but only as long as the family can or will protect said nubile female. If she goes out on her own, she is in peril if she can't get started with sufficient capability to land a job that pays well enough for her to stay safe.

I chose to go the other way with regard to the university hump, preparing my kids to be ready for college at 14 to have their STEM PhDs done by 24. In both cases by varying degrees, the universities had their way with them.

That's the False Dilemma Fallacy - children or career.

The women themselves may cite career vs raising children but that's more likely an acceptable, convenient, and low-confrontational excuse that covers over the real truth. As we see in many individual's behavior, they are well aware of what they've been through and refuse to subject any offspring of their own to the same dysfunction they've known.
