In my metro Seattle Safeway grocery store, Coca-Cola has a stand alone display of Made in Mexico glass bottled Coke.

They actually make it with sugar in Mexico.

I was tempted to buy a bottle to see if it tasted like USA Coke in the 1950s, but decided to just walk by.

I can’t say for sure that it’s identical to what you rememeber from the ‘50s, but Mexi-Coke in a glass bottle does taste better than the U.S. high-fructose version in either an aluminum can or plastic bottle.

If you don’t want the Mex version, hang tight... help may be on the way. Based on Pres. Trump’s lobbying, Coca-Colas said that it intends to introduce an American-made, cane-sugar version of its flagship soda this fall. So stay tuned...

Coke is going to make a sugar cane based / USA manufacturered version this fall. I guess Trump requested it. I believe it will be a limited run at least initially. It doesn’t replace the current coke version, just another option.
