I could be remembering this completely wrong, but this just sticks out in my brain: Paula Deen was incredibly loved and popular, so much so that she had several shows on Food Network at the same time. No one had a problem with her. Then Michelle Obama went on her show about the time she was pushing all that clean eating and criticizing school lunches. Paula Deen made a good natured joke that the First Lady wasn’t worried about calories or “clean eating” when she was on her show (I’m paraphrasing, but it was something like that. Something any normal person could laugh off). Very soon after that came all the allegations about Paula Deen’s past language and behavior and suddenly she was public enemy number one. I really don’t think I’m remembering this wrong…does any one else recall this?
Yes. I believe that she stated that she had never seen anyone eat as much as MO. Didn’t connect it with later fallout. Paula used to say, “I’m your cook, not your doctor.”
Sounds like something Big Mike would be involved in...
