Yes Trump won as a populist. It’s the independents who decide elections which is why an “old school” conservative like DeSantis is out of the picture. The country has changed in many ways and I no longer see a conventional conservatives as a viable candidate for President. That might not sit well with some here but I’m afraid that’s the reality.
