Sounds like a bogus poll. Historically the potential rat challenger has always been far ahead of the Republican at this early point. Looks like they’re roughly tied at this time

If the primaries were now I think Vance would have a coronation. On the rat side I see a scrum among the scum who want the gig. No Clyburn will anoint the winner this time. That takes time, energy, and lists of money, all to the benefit of the good candidate, if there’s no substantial fight on that side

Correct. They have the advantage of the MSM doing the campaigning part for them.

The poll might be accurate, but I have trouble believing it. Remember, many Americans probably don’t realize who Newsome is or his record in CA. In a real election, these would become issues.

No. Most voters do not know who Newsom is, so if they are not anti-Dem on principle, they will tend to inform their imagination with their own ideals. That worked well with Obama, who used the plastic words "Hope and Change", knowing that means different things to different people. As governor, Newsom has more of a history that can be exposed when people actually care.

I do not see him getting the nomination. If he does, Vance will thrash him.
