I have a mechanic family member who has lived/worked in several locations on the west coast and he told me 10 years ago that the trucking industry had been specifically targeted by Sikhs and they planned to own it. I think if you go up and down the west coast include British Columbia, Sikh ownership is somewhere in the 40 to 50% range so it would appear they have a fairly good start and on their way to ‘owning the industry’. He says that the folks he knows call them ‘wraparound cowboys’... As a side note, the Sikhs also own many of the truck stops along the routes...
