CBS Caves After White House Catches Network Red-Handed

CBS News has just admitted that a recent interview with Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem was deceptively edited. The network will now make changes to the “Face the Nation” program to prevent such incidents from happening again.

The incident stemmed from an interview aired last Sunday featuring Noem in which she was cut off while answering a question concerning why DHS was going after an illegal alien and alleged MS-13 gang member and human trafficker, Kilmar Abrego Garcia.

Program host Ed O’Keefe asked Noem why they weren’t making Garcia stand trial and face charges here in the United States and were attempting to deport him out of the country. After the segment aired, Noem got on her social media accounts and trashed the network.

“I joined CBS to report the facts about Kilmar Abrego Garcia. Instead, CBS shamefully edited the interview to whitewash the truth about this MS-13 gang member and the threat he poses to American public safety,” Noem stated, posting video clips to support her case.

In the clip that CBS aired on television, Noem said, “Prosecution decisions are always made by the Department of Justice and Pam Bondi’s department, so we will let them do that, although this individual does have criminal charges pending. He has charges pending against him civilly as well. And the one thing that we will continue to do is to make sure that he doesn’t walk free in the United States of America.”

The rest of her answer was edited out, and the interview jumped ahead to O’Keefe’s next question, concerning whether the government should continue to pursue efforts to deport Abrego Garcia to Uganda. Noem then posted her unedited response, which wasn’t shown on the air.

“This individual was a known human smuggler, an MS-13 gang member, and an individual who is a wife beater, and someone who is so perverted that he solicited nude photos from minors, and even his fellow human traffickers told him to knock it off. He was so sick in what he was doing and how he was treating small children. So, he needs to never be in the United States of America, and our administration is making sure we’re doing all that we can,” Noem stated, according to Fox News.

CBS has since released a statement responding to the incident, saying, “In response to audience feedback over the past week, we have implemented a new policy for greater transparency in our interviews. FACE THE NATION will now only broadcast live or live-to-tape interviews (subject to national security or legal restrictions). This extra measure means the television audience will see the full, unedited interview on CBS and we will continue our practice of posting full transcripts and the unedited video online.”

There’s a simpler solution. No Republican should ever talk to a CBS employee ever again.

Will they do a complete re-air of the segment without the deceptive editing so the viewers will get the correct story, or just post a statement online and think that “corrects” what was done?

I remember several years ago a completely false story was circulated about Don Jr.’s supposed “contacts” with someone (maybe related to Russia) that was ran wall to wall...it was exposed as fabricated, and CNN did a brief, short report once to admit this and correct the story - so 99% of those who saw the false reporting never saw the correction, of course.

It is extraordinary, though unfortunately not surprising, the media and the Democrats continue, even now, to hold this guy up as some sort of innocent victim.

Illegals, legal immigrants, citizens...we all have RIGHTS.
To live in the US is not a RIGHT. To be in the US is a PRIVILEGE.

The media intends to frame the issue wrong and force us to attack or defend their false premise.

I’m still exprecting the retarded GOP to once again cater to the liberal media instead of shunning them and only having debates on Fox, OAN, Newsmax or One Voice.
